Tuchel has near-full compliment to choose from

Following some good league form, the predicted Chelsea team to face Burnley should see Thomas Tuchel stick with a strong side.

Chelsea have been on a good run of form in pretty much every competition. They have won seven of their last eight games in all competitions.

The only game they have not won in that run was the League Cup final against Liverpool. Tuchel’s side were resigned to defeat on penalties, when Kepa Arrizabalaga blazed his spot kick over the bar.

The Blues bounced back last game though, beating Championship Luton Town 3-2, after a nervy start.

Tuchel will want to get back into a good vein of form. He has a host of top players available, which he touched on ahead of the game.

“No fresh injuries but I have to talk to the fitness coaches and doctors. Azpi wasn’t training yesterday so this will be too close,” he said.

“Hakim [Ziyech] was in training, hopefully he can come back. Reece [James] did training yesterday and no reactions after his two matches. The guys who were not with us at Luton because of minor injuries, Thiago [Silva] and Trevoh [Chalobah], were back in training and seem good to go.”

Timo Werner scored and provided two assists from the left, with Mason Mount occupying the right-hand side.

Romelu Lukaku started up top, and scored the decisive goal in the tie.

Edouard Mendy could come in for Kepa. The back three is likely to feature Silva and Chalobah, alongside Rudiger.

N’Golo Kante could come in, and Jorginho may remain in the side next to him.
