Milan ready to spend up to €100m in the summer

La Gazzetta dello Sport claims Milan are ready to spend up to €100m to strengthen the team next summer and Sven Botman will likely be their first signing.

According to multiple reports, the Rossoneri are finalising an agreement with Lille for the Netherlands international, who has already agreed personal terms with the Serie A giants. Milan will invest circa €25-30m to secure his signature in the summer.

Botman is only the first reinforcement for the Rossoneri, who are also on the lookout for a centre midfielder, a Trequartista and a centre forward. Botman’s teammate Renato Sanches is seen as their No.1 target in the middle of the park.

Milan agree deal to sign Newcastle target Botman

His contract runs out in 2023 and his agent Jorge Mendes is on good terms with Milan. Mendes also represents Rafael Leao who will soon extend with the Rossoneri. Sanches price tag is similar to Botman’s, but Milan are trying to lower the French club’s demands.

Gianluca Scamacca has become their primary target in attack. The Rossoneri will meet Sassuolo next week to sound out the availability of the Italy international. Inter have also set their sights on the 23-year-old who may extend with the Neroverdi before changing club over the summer. Sassuolo want €40m Scamacca and that would already make circa €100m for the three signings.

However, the arrival of a new striker doesn’t rule out the signing of Divock Origi from Liverpool, who can be deployed as an attacking winger in Milan’s 4-2-3-1 formation. The Liverpool man is close to reaching an agreement with the Serie A giants over a free move in the summer.
