Liverpool given huge task if they overcome Nottingham Forest; all-London tie set

Liverpool will face Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-finals if they overcome Nottingham Forest, in a match that would take place just one week after their potentially league-deciding clash.

With Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool all in the pot for the FA Cup semi-final draw, one fixture was guaranteed to be a true heavyweight clash – providing Liverpool overcome Nottingham Forest first.

Chelsea breezed past Middlesbrough on Saturday to book their place in the last four. Goals from Romelu Lukaku and Hakim Ziyech secured safe passage for the under-fire Blues at the Riverside.

Crystal Palace demolished Everton at Selhurst Park on Sunday with four different names on the scoresheet. Patrick Vieira will have high hopes of landing a major trophy in his first season in charge of the Eagles.

Man City overcame Southampton with late goals from Phil Foden and Riyad Mahrez settling any nerves.

Liverpool’s quarter-final clash with Nottingham Forest was the only tie left undecided ahead of the semi-final draw.

While a trip to the City Ground won’t be plain sailing after Forest previously dumped out Arsenal and Leicester, Jurgen Klopp’s Reds are the overwhelming favourites there.
